Arrival
A time is allocated
for each class entered. It is important to arrive in good time
for the start of your class - you will be more relaxed and give
a better performance. Class timings are critical to the smooth
running of the festival. Those competitors who miss their allocated
time may be asked to perform at the end of the class.

Performance
Your performance begins
when you leave your seat and ends when you return to it. You are
encouraged to sit in the audience while other competitors perform,
and you will be called to perform when it is your turn. You then
need to hand a copy of your music to the adjudicator's secretary.
The adjudicator will indicate when you can begin.
Dress
Competitors are expected
to wear smart dress or school uniform. Costume is only permitted
in dance or character song classes.

Adjudicating
While you perform,
the adjudicator will be preparing a written report of your performance
which is intended to help you in the future. This will be available
(with a certificate) at the end of the class for you to take away.

Accompanists
In music classes competitors
are expected to provide their own accompanist. If this is a problem
then please contact the section secretary. The singing section
has an official accompanist who must be booked via the entry form
(see Music and Arts Classes Rule 4 for details).

Audience
Friends and relations
are encouraged to come and support you at the competition, and
a small entrance fee will be charged for non-performers. The presence
of a friendly, supportive audience helps to create a more relaxed
concert-like atmosphere which should help your performance. You
should try to perform to the whole audience rather than just to
the adjudicator.
