"A Real Crescendo of Music Talent Amongst Youngsters!"

Article which the Fleetwood Weekly News ran on the 7th October 2009.

"Youngsters brought violins, flutes and trumpets out to play as they took part in Fleetwood Music & Arts Festival.

The competition, held over the last two weekends, invites talented musicians to perform, with the aim of being crowned winners of their class.

The festival saw more than 200 people, from 6 years old to pensioners, compete in the piano, instrumental, singing and speech and drama classes, held in locations across Fleetwood.

Diana Stenson, secretary for the Festival said "We had a very high standard this year with children entering from all over the North West.

As well as the four separate classes, the winners were entered into a championship class. The winner of the Piano section was Sam Hampson, who was just 13.

The Festival is a brilliant opportunity for musicians, singers and actors because it gives them a platform to perform. There isn't a lot of opportunity for that in the area, so it was lovely to watch."
